There are on occasion television series that for an episode or more will allow one or more characters to go into the futuristic world of "tomorrow."
- Sliders - Although traveling to parallel Earths isn't time travel, the characters often did go to worlds more advanced in technology than the world they came from. One notable example is at the end of the third season, "This Slide of Paradise." Quinn and Maggie arrive in a futurescape scene complete with flying futuristic cars.
- Honey, I Shrunk The Kids: The TV Show - In the second season episode "Honey, The Future's Comin' Back On Me" a junk-food-eating cyborg named Aleztra travels back from the year 2023 to eliminate Wayne Szalinski. Compounding the situation further members of the underground Szalinski-Nistas are sent from the future to protect Wayne. Frustrated, Aleztra kidnaps Amy and Nick. Wayne and Diane travel to ecologically polluted future to bring their kids back.
